Write scripts to download images given a set of settlement coordinates.

  • Script should accept zoom levels and bounding box size as inputs, but should default to a standard value for each.
  • Script will use Google Earth Engine as the back-end for pulling images. In the future this should probably be replaced by an open source alternative.
  • [OPEN QUESTION] Should we host the images in git-lfs or require all contributors to download them?

Datasets most commonly used for this type of exercise are Landsat-8 and Sentinel-2.
