How to get it running on Kali on a Laptop via USB-C

Title says it. I don't have access to a nethunter-phone.
As far as I know, USB-C should do the work of OTG?
Kali 6.6.9-1kali1 (2024-01-08) x86_64 GNU/Linux should have HID enabled Kernel?

I miserably failed in trying to simulate a HID-Device on my Laptop :(
I need Patterncracking to work.
Can you please enlighten me?

Sadly "no" and I had to give up. The Owner needed the device back.

Maybe not perfect in this case (I'd love to be able to directly use my USB C laptop to run this), but I'm executing it with a RPi 3A+ in USB gadget mode. Not all the Pis support gadget mode (Zeros, As, and I believe 4 and on do?).

I don't have a full write up for the process, but I pieced it together from the following:

1. Enable gadget mode: https://www.isticktoit.net/?p=1383
2. Patch some HID test code as listed here: Hid-Keyboard binary fix #120 (comment) I also needed to remove a bunch of hyphens and add both 'enter' and 'return' to the list of options (and possibly a few other spelling changes).

Note that even though the hardware on a Macbook supports dual-role USB-C, macOS deliberately does not allow HID gadget mode.
