3 seconds delay when closing start menu

• I have confirmed that this issue does not happen when ExplorerPatcher is not installed
• I do not have "register as shell extension" enabled
• I have tried my best to check existing issues

Repro ExplorerPatcher versions

Before updating to Windows 11, the start menu would close instantly, and after updating to Windows 11 it also closes without delay. Explorer Patcher however takes about 3 seconds to close start menu.

3rd party tweak software installed

No other software that can affect Shell.

Describe the bug

Start menu takes about 3 seconds to close fully, and may affect using fullscreen software like internet browsers.

Expected outcome

Start menu working as quick as default Windows.

Actual outcome

Takes about 3 seconds to close, leaving a blank space

Your media is not playing back. And you didn't post the version of EP you have installed. If you recently upgraded to windows 11 24h2 from 23h2 or 22h2, you will need to uninstall EP and install it again. When doing upgrades of windows 11 releases, you must uninstall EP first. And when the upgrade is done, then you can install the latest release of EP.

For your issue, try uninstalling EP and installing the latest pre-release: https://github.com/valinet/ExplorerPatcher/releases

And please post the software you installed that modifies the UI of windows, such as windhawk and any mods you have enabled for it.

Reinstalled the latest Windows Update and now it works properly, it seems it was mismatched with the latest prerelease of ExplorerPatcher.

I just found out that I was having this same exact issue in ExplorerPatcher 26100.4946.69.5 on Windows 11 version 25H2 build 26200.6901.
Simply re-installing ExplorerPatcher fixed it immediately for me (no need to reboot).
