Not working after latest Windows 11 update

• I have confirmed that this issue does not happen when ExplorerPatcher is not installed
• I do not have "register as shell extension" enabled
• I have tried my best to check existing issues

Repro ExplorerPatcher versions

Version: 26100.4946.69.4

Repro Windows Versions

Windows 11 Version 24H2 (OS Build 26100.6584)

3rd party tweak software installed

Describe the bug

After the latest update, ExplorerPatcher no longer works
After a reboot, Windows 11 taskbar is back as well as the menu
ExplorerPatcher does not work anymore (I can change settings but nothing happens)

Expected outcome

I thought the update did reset ExplorerPatcher's configuration and all it needed was to change some settings back to my previous configuration (Win10 taskbar and menu)

Actual outcome

I tried to modify parameters in the configuration (change taskbar type, menu type, ...) then explorer crashed
I tried restarting explorer but it did not work (I could see multiple processes of explorer in the taskmanager)

I had to uninstall ExplorerPatcher in order to restart explorer.exe

if you enabled the option register as shell extension, disable it by opening up the EP properties application, go to File Explorer, and untick Register as shell extension.

Open up EP Properties application, go to taskbar, and set taskbar style to Windows 10 (ExplorerPatcher), not Windows 10. We no longer offer more support on the stock Windows 10 taskbar.

if you do not see Windows 10 (ExplorerPatcher), you need to uninstall and install the latest version of EP from here: https://github.com/valinet/ExplorerPatcher/releases

you upgraded to windows 11 24h2 from 23h2 without uninstalling EP first before doing the upgrade

Register as shell extension was not ticked

I can choose taskbar style "Windows 10 (ExplorerPatcher) but as soon as I restart File Explorer, it crashes and does not restart
If I choose Windows 11, it's the same. Once I restart file explorer, EP Properties window hangs for a bit and nothing happens
I need to uninstall EP from the properties panel and then File Explorer comes back

I uninstalled EP, restarted the computer, Reinstalled EP
Same issue

Is there something to clean in the registry ?

After uninstalling, deleting everything related to EP in the registry, I installed the latest version
It did not work at first
I signed out and signed back in
EP Downloaded "Symbols" and now it seems to be working (both taskbar and start menu)

Then this was caused by symbols not being downloaded yet. Please close this then.
