With two identical external monitors I would constantly run into issues with the displays swapping places on wake from sleep. With Basic + Extended display identification and Display Group Layout Protection the monitors stay on the correct side, but now my main display swaps between the two. With a CLI command I can change the main display but it doesn't appear to be in the GUI. Would it be possible to add the ability to define a main display in the Layout Protection portion of Display Groups?

You should have a main display protection under the Configuration Protection app menu. But indeed it might sense to add a similar setting for this for group layout protection as well so the preferred main display can be configured on a per group level (makes sense if multiple groups are defined and auto-switched based on participating displays).
I'll give Configuration Protection a shot (took me longer than I'd like to admit to find it), thanks! But I agree, placing it in Display Groups would be beneficial for multiple group scenarios.
