Which data in trainval.txt is set aside for validation??

I've used the create_list.sh script to generate trainval.txt, test.txt, and test_name_size.txt. However, I could not find any information indicating how much of the data in trainval.txt is for validation. This is needed for setting the value of 'test_iter', so I would really appreciate an answer!
