PHP Fatal error in 3.0.8

• Orders going into Pending Payment.
• Funds not being received by vendor.
• Customers are seeing payment made in their accounts.
• No order notes attached to Woocomerce order.
• Woo log shows: 'Warning #9619 - No PayPal order ID found in order #XXXXX meta.'

I encountered the same problem after updating from 3.0.6 to 3.0.8. With 3.0.7 this did not seem to happen either.

Some possibly relevant plugins involved are current versions of WooCommerce, Germanized for WooCommerce Pro, WooPayments and the Avada theme. The checkout setup is somewhat esoteric: block-based on a Fusion builder-based page.
