Force close on App

Hello,

I tried importing the examples, I was able to get one of them to upload to my device but I keep getting force close. Am I doing something wrong?

Are there any tutorials for android for xively?

The error happens in DemoActivity.java:67 because service is Null:

I did notify them that the issue was occuring.. I also asked for them to
create a tutorial.

Apparently they are not checking this. This is the correct place to submit a bug, according to their contact page, yet there is no response.

You will get this behavior if you haven't built and installed the service project (HttpService) which is located in the service folder. Once you install the HttpService, you'll be able to build and run the demo application.

I have install the service and the DemoActivity project , and also displayed Feed ID and API Key to the DemoActivity .java. But when I click the "List Feed". it show the following log:

D/HttpTask( 3339): request(https://api.xively.com/v2/feeds, null)
D/HttpTask( 3339): httpMethod(GET)
D/HttpTask( 3339): Response on request: Forbidden
W/HttpTask( 3339): Request was not made successfully
W/HttpTask( 3339): com.xively.android.service.exception.RequestUnsuccessfulExcep
tion: Unable to open connection for request.

Did I missing something ?

If you want to use Xively datas on Android, you should use the Rest API (https://xively.com/dev/docs/api/) and not this Library. I made a small app using the Xively Api without this library, if you are interested you can check there https://github.com/Fgabz/XivelyAndroid

Hi,

I imported the project and was able to get the app "XivelyAndroidServiceDemo" to be uploaded and run on my Samsung Galaxy Note 3 mobile phone. But... an error message "Unfortunately, XivelyAndroidServiceDemo has stopped." shows up whenever I press either the "List Feed" button or "Create Datapoint" button. The result remains blank. I tried re-starting the app, but it always give the same output upon pressing the buttons (stated above).

In Android Studio, I have encountered an error in the HttpServiceTest.java.
Under public void testCreateDatapoint(){} in HttpServiceTest.java, there is a red underline under the word 'this' in IBinder service = this.bindService(new Intent(HttpService.class.getName())); code.
Upon scrolling my mouse on the word 'this', a sentence appears "Cannot access android.content.ComponentsCallback2.

I imported using Android Studio 1.5.1.
I have set my API and feed ID for the 2 files according to the readme (HttpServiceTest.java and DemoActivity.java)
I have tried using API supported for the app according to readme

Someone please help me fix this issue.

Besides, I have read that Xively interface via RESTful API and HTTPclient, but it is not used in this segment of codes. Could it be the reason why it could not work? If it is, can someone provide a sample code solution please.
