The West runner is not compatible with Python version 3.12.0

The West runner does not work after switching to Python version 3.12.0

• platform: not working on multiple boards, I run on frdm_k64f, s32z2xxdc2@B/s32z270/rtu0, mr_canhubk3. This is seems a common issue, not board/vendor specific.

• reproduce:

  • install python 3.12.0
  • run command "west build -p -b frdm_k64f samples/hello_world"
  • run command "west debug" or "west flash"

• Please note that this issue does not occur with other Python versions, such as 3.12.1

Hi @kartben i see you have a PR switching to python 3.12, I found that west runner isn't working on python 3.12.0 but works well with python 3.12.1. Should we update the note with python version?

Why would you install 3.12.0 specifically? 3.12.11 is the latest 3.12 version and has many bugfixes. I don't think this is related to West or Zephyr

Although I agree with above comment (Python 3.12.0 is from 2023, whereas 3.12.11 is from this month), maybe it should be explicitely noted in https://docs.zephyrproject.org/latest/develop/getting_started/index.html#install-dependencies the minimum version tested with Zephyr?
