We have gotten feedback from external users that having the AICS logo in the upper-left makes it less palatable to use as a tool.

I feel like this is expected for a free tool that has no advertisement. We want people who see external users using our tools to know where they came from.

It is true that it fair for us to do some sort of promotion of the maintainers, however if we take inspiration from tools like Napari which are very subtle about it it seems like there are things we can do to reach a comfortable middleground
