Hi @axel-lauer (@schlunma @hb326 ),

I added here a recipe to create the 2D histograms for clouds and added it also to the documentation. But we still need to add 3-4 other combinations of variables.

@schlunma I am not quite sure if we need the changes in the diagnostic file which were done by Aytac. I was not able to plot a colorbar in the jointplot version, so that it appears at the side and not in the middle of the plot. Do you know a solution for that?

Hi Lisa, thanks! I think we can keep one part of the diag change and drop the other (see my comments on the code).

Unfortunately, I don' think it's possible to add a colorbar in the recipe without changes in the diagnostic code (see https://stackoverflow.com/a/29909033).
