# MicroAgentStack – Automated Modular Agent Framework

**Element Ark / MicroAgentStack**
_A fully open-source, modular AI agent orchestration framework. Designed for automation, scalability, and best-in-class operational reliability._

---

## **Project Goals**

- Enable rapid, automated deployment of modular AI “microagents” (each a containerized FastAPI service)
- Centralize agent metadata for versioning, documentation, and future scaling
- Use best practices from OpenAI-level orchestration: easy onboarding, zero drift, repeatable builds, robust documentation

---

## **System & Environment**

- **OS:** Windows 11 Pro, WSL2/Ubuntu 22.04
- **CPU:** AMD Threadripper Pro 7965WX
- **GPU:** 2× NVIDIA RTX 5090
- **RAM:** 512GB
- **Main Storage:** 4TB Samsung 1900 Pro SSD (+40TB+ archive)
- **Dev Tools:** Docker Desktop, VS Code, GitHub Desktop, PowerShell, Ubuntu Terminal

---

## **Project Structure**

MicroAgentStack/ ├── agent_manifest.json # Master manifest – all agent metadata (edit this first!) ├── agents/ │ ├── ResearchAgent/ │ │ ├── main.py │ │ ├── requirements.txt │ │ ├── Dockerfile │ │ ├── openapi.yaml │ │ └── README.md │ └── ... # Other agents ├── docker-compose.yml # Orchestrates all agents as containers ├── generate_all_agent_files.py # "Super Generator" – keeps all agents/files in sync with manifest ├── Other generator scripts... # (e.g., inject_fastapi_metadata.py) └── README.md # (this file)

---

## **How It Works**

- **All agent definitions live in `agent_manifest.json`** (name, purpose, version, functionality)
- **Run `generate_all_agent_files.py`** after any manifest change—this creates/updates:
    - `main.py` (FastAPI scaffold with full docstring metadata)
    - `requirements.txt`
    - `Dockerfile`
    - `openapi.yaml`
    - `README.md` for each agent
- **Launch all agents** using Docker Compose:
  ```bash
  docker compose up --build -d
  • Interact with agents via REST endpoints (see each /docs or /openapi.yaml)
Quick Start
  1. Clone repo & install dependencies
    git clone https://github.com/YourUsername/MicroAgentStack.git
    cd MicroAgentStack
  2. Edit agent_manifest.json to define/update your agents.
  3. Run the Super Generator to scaffold/update all agents:
    python3 generate_all_agent_files.py
  4. Launch agents:
    docker compose up --build -d
  5. Access each agent:
    • Each will run on its own port (see docker-compose.yml)
    • Visit http://localhost:<PORT>/docs for Swagger UI
Best Practices
  • Always update agent_manifest.json first!
  • After any manifest edit, run the generator to keep everything in sync.
  • Don’t manually edit generated files unless you know what you’re doing—custom logic should be modular or extendable.
  • Track all changes in Git.
  • Periodically review the manifest for version bumps and deprecations.
Roadmap
  • Super Generator improvements (custom requirements per agent, auto-tests, plugin support)
  • Advanced orchestration (auto-discovery, agent federation, multi-tenant isolation)
  • DevOps automation (CI/CD integration, health monitoring)
  • Community contributions welcome!
Contact / Support
  • Maintained by Element Ark / FlexNetOS
  • For onboarding, open a GitHub issue or start a new ChatGPT session and provide your current agent_manifest.json and project files.
Let’s build AI automation the right way—modular, open, and future-proof.
