Releases: PhoenixBound/Pokemon-Definitely-Not-Dry-Version
Wet Version III - actually stable edition
Let's hope I didn't Jynx that. 😉 (edit 15 April 2017: it looks like I jinxed it. This version is horribly broken besides Pokemon Centers. The other things mentioned should technically be okay, though.)
- Fixed lots of scripts. Lots of them. As their spots in the ROM have changed, this is now v2.0.0.
- Added a "new" move that was supposed to be included in the previous releases.
- Fixed a few trainers. Miki isn't trash, that's Jimmy.
- Added more noot to your noot.
- Fixed a few bugs and typos too. For example, healing actually works!
Note about trade evolutions
Originally, this release was supposed to have trade evolutions be changed to normal evolutions. This wasn't included because emulators let you emulate the wireless adapter. There are lots of guides for VBA already on the internet (you can just use VBA Link or the built-in Joybus functions for that). If you want a guide on my emulator of choice, mGBA, click here.
How to play Wet Version III
- Get a copy of the ROM for Pokémon FireRed Version v1.0. It's also known as the "Squirrels" version.
- Open the ZIP archive below and extract it to where you'll keep your ROM.
- Get an IPS patcher. Lunar IPS and Floating IPS are popular ones.
- Make a copy of your ROM and rename it "clean" or "clean.gba."
- Open the IPS patcher and follow the instructions in it to apply the patch to your original ROM (not the one named "clean"!).
- Open the ROM in a decent GBA emulator. I like mGBA.
- If you see a big Xwater-style X on booting the game, then you're good!
Wet Version III - Stream Edition
This is the second patch that Miki used on stream (on the third day).
Edit 7 June 2017: This version is the one to use, but note that it's buggy. If you want a non-buggy release, bug me on Discord (the salvation phoenix on Xwater's discord).
New features include:
- Edited trainer classes, including stream ranks and a few sprite changes
- A few miscellaneous script fixes
- The Machamp Aiyah himself
- No Pokémon Center functionality, like the last release
- Two Victory Road trainers that softlock the game
- Oh, and some Pokémon and move name changes. Those are actual features.
Stay tuned for the stable release!
