So I didn't set out to rewrite everything, but that sort of happened.
It's a bit of a mess right now because I was trying to just figure out how to fit everything together, so I'll be doing some clean-up, adding some tests, and docstrings and stuff before this is read to merge.
Everything works though! The exposed stuff is probably ready for
qcumber-frontend.
