OK, I remember what is going on. We need netcdf-c-4.7.4 for some other reason. That was also the release we added szip writing. So in the autotools build I used the presence of SZIP_WRITE to determine that the release was recent enough. We don't actually need szip write. However, I don't understand why SZIP_WRITE was not true in this case. Unfortunately I just packed up that machine and won't have it running again for a few days. If the build works for you, then probably this is user-error on my part. This is the first time I've tried to use the netcdf-fortran cmake build. Thanks, Ed
