docs: BOM/hardware corrections + Valar store links + wiki sync - #37
Conversation
… + third clamp nut Build-Guide mirror: replace 3M Command Strips (x4) with five 1" foam mounting squares (wipe clean/dry, press firmly); correct the arm-screw prose 12 -> 15 mm; correct the arm-attach and bottom-join prose 30 -> 35 mm; document the third M3 square nut seated in one arm's pocket (must go in before the arms mate) that the M3 x 35 mm screw clamps into against the drive pulley. … adapter, store links BOM-V2.0 (the .docx source of truth): replace command strips with five 1" foam mounting squares; correct the Body Assembly arm screw 16 -> 15 mm; raise the Body Assembly M3 square nut count 1 -> 3 (curtain stays 1, total 4); change the power adapter to 24 V 1.5 A (drops the stale "12 V is best" note); point every purchasable row at the Valar Systems store and remove all Amazon affiliate links. Links stay in the Description column so make_bom.py renders them as hyperlinks; its intro line updated to say "Valar Systems store." Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 <noreply@anthropic.com>

Bring the docs/wiki-* mirror up to the live wiki's own edits so the mirror is the single source of truth: adopt the redesigned Home (and change its "command strips" line to foam mounting squares), the Firmware-Guide select: edit, and the de-emojified sidebar. Caught during the wiki sync sweep: the firmware overview still described the v1.0 MK7 gear. v1.1 ships the MK8 (matches BOM-V2.0 and Build-Guide). Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 <noreply@anthropic.com>
… M3x12 flat-head Owner-confirmed fastener map: M3x15 button head x3 = one per arm (2) + curtain pulley (1); M3 square nut x4 = per arm (2) + clamp nut (1) + curtain pulley (1); every nut pairs with exactly one screw. - BOM-V2.0 Body: M3x15 button head 2 -> 3 (adds the pulley screw). - BOM-V2.0 Curtain: DELETE "M3 x 12 mm flat head | 1" — it was the pulley screw misidentified; it does not exist as a separate part. - Build-Guide pulley-end step + image: the V-groove pulley is held by an M3 x 15 mm button-head screw (not M3 x 12 mm flat-head), into an M3 square nut. Flag #1 resolved (owner-confirmed) + one new flagArm-screw qty — resolved. The wiki was right: M3 × 15 mm button head = qty 3 = one per arm (2) + the curtain-pulley screw (1), threaded into the 4th square nut. Applied (commits
Confirmed fastener map now reconciles across every table — each of the 4 square nuts pairs with exactly one screw (2× M3×15 arm, 1× M3×35 clamp, 1× M3×15 pulley):
New flag (pre-existing, not changed): thread-forming/self-tapping M3 × 10 count disagrees — wiki quick-BOM says 23, |
…e nail Owner-confirmed: 22 thread-forming screws total. BOM-V2.0 Curtain 11 -> 14 (Body stays 8: 4 PCB + 4 wall-plate; the 2 motor-mount screws are machine screws into the motor, not thread-forming). Wiki quick-BOM aggregate 23 -> 22. Wire nail removed from the BOM Mounting Hardware — no longer included in the kit. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 <noreply@anthropic.com>
Remaining flags resolved (owner-confirmed)
All fastener counts now cross-check. Remaining non-blocking item: |
Documentation-only corrections from the confirmed hardware facts (ROPENER-DOC-UPDATE work order, confirmed 2026-07-28). No firmware / STEP / STL changes.
Changes
BOM-V2.0was 16 mm; Build-Guide prose was 12 mm).BOM-V2.0(curtain stays 1; total 4). Build-Guide now tells the builder to seat the third nut before the arms mate (the pocket is inaccessible afterward).make_bom.pyintro text updated to match.docs/wiki-*brought up to the live wiki's own edits (redesigned Home + foam line, Firmware-Guideselect:edit, de-emojified sidebar) so the repo mirror is the single source of truth.The live wiki is being synced separately from this corrected mirror.
Flags (not changed — need your call)
BOM-V2.0lists the M3 × 15 mm arm screw at qty 2 (one per arm); the wiki tables say 3. Per your instruction I left the wiki at 3 and leftBOM-V2.0at 2 — but the build prose only places 2 (one per arm), so the third's location is unaccounted. Confirm the real count.BOM-V2.0says 3; the old README said "4 small nails." I dropped the count from the README prose rather than guess.arm-to-motorrename (work-order CHANGE 4b): the string appears nowhere in repo or wiki — no-op.amzn.toaffiliate link in the wiki Installation-Guide is being removed during the wiki sync.docs/dist/docx/PDF still carry the old data — regenerate withpython make_bom.py(needs the toolchain) to refresh the binaries.🤖 Generated with Claude Code
