👎 This is a wallet that only supports Cardano superficially (ADA not included in the "top 5" headlined on the front page = {BTC, ETH, SOL, BNB, USDT}): https://gemwallet.com

... and only mentions Cardano on the web site in the course of content farming: https://www.google.com/search?q=site%3Agemwallet.com+cardano

I feel it's misleading that what's called a "Cardano wallet" on this landing page (https://gemwallet.com/cardano-wallet) is branded as a Bitcoin wallet on the app pages it points to (e.g. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gemwallet.android).

Hey there! Happy to adjust if that's a requirement, can you clarify which of these are required? We do help many ecosystems to support their users, happy to support Cardano on Gem Wallet and also allow fiat onramp / offramp for the ADA users on our wallet.

I also want to mention that Gem Wallet is fully open source(which is not very common among crypto wallets).

@gemcoder21 FYI the Cardano Developer Portal is intended to showcase applications that offer distinctive features to Cardano users... it's not meant to be a complete list of compatible software or wallets.

Personally I do appreciate the open source delivery of your software. There is also a portfolio of Builder Tools (https://developers.cardano.org/tools) so if your /core repository would be useful to Cardano wallets or other integrations then you could consider posting it there instead.

I’m glad your wallet supports Cardano and is open source - thank you for that. I have to agree with Robert regarding the lack of depth, it doesn’t look like it’s possible to delegate to a stake pool, submit metadata transactions, interact with dapps or doing governance or anything along those lines. For a "Cardano Showcase" not enough. (yet?)

Thank you! Appreciate your support! We do think open source is must have for any crypto wallet, most of them are close sourced.

We plan to support more functionality for Cardano in the future, first thing is staking and then swaps and NFT support. What could we do more to make this happen?

I feel like current list of Cardano wallets is missing an easy/fast/secure mobile crypto wallet that's also open source. If I had to decide, it would make that as must have requirement for any showcase product.

Honestly it feels a bit disappointing to me, this is a first time we see such feedback for supporting an ecosystem. We did get listed on ethereum.org, solana.com, ton.org, trondao.org, base.org and many others.

Unfortunately there is a bit of a small history of some projects adding initial support and then not being able to keep-up with upgrades/features/breaking changes, especially when going through forks - leaving a lot of users 'stuck'.

Regardless a bit of maturity on the ecosystem-specific feature-set (in this case, essentials) to be listed as a showcase, you can - however - submit your entry on support-faq wallet list and in future when the feature score is higher on the list, we can revisit/include it on showcase.

Thank you! Created a PR per your suggestion on Support FAQ repo: cardano-community/support-faq#111

Our crypto core primitives are based on https://github.com/trustwallet/wallet-core (well managed and security audited), all the new features / breaking changes will covered by them. I'm confident about their tech stack to always keep up with the latest changes.
Would that enough to resolve major concern with future upgrades? Additionally our team is on GitHub (build in public), always open for discussion on GitHub / telegram / discord.

Tbh - trustwallet is a prime example of a wallet ecosystem that is often found to be lagging/broken 😢 causing a lot of grumpy users in official channels , but in general - as mentioned in the guidelines, it is about what features are currently live, future enhancements can be accounted for when they're live
