🐞Infinite freezing loop when livestream playback speed is > 1x (Distinct from #4043) #4346

Description

@iwannopoulos

Bug Report:

  • Description:
When I watch a livestream video and set the speed to (eg x5), when the video time reaches the edge of the live broadcast, it stops continuously for a moment to buffer and then continues with the same speed forever in a loop.
-Notice Different from Bug Force playback speed not working on livestreamed/premiered videos #4043
  • Steps to reproduce this:
    1. Open any active YouTube Livestream (must be currently live).
    2. Set the playback speed to something fast (e.g., x5) using ImprovedTube.
    3. Wait a few seconds for the (fast) video to catch up to the real-time Live.
  • Since when?:
From the first time I downloaded the extension last week
  • Browser:
    GOOGLE CHROME [152.0.7977.83]
  • Are any errors shown in the Browser-Console?: N/A
  • **Does the bug not happen when you log out of YouTube?
    Happens regardless of login.

OPTIONAL (usually):

  • Expected preferred behavior: The extension should detect when the live edge is reached and automatically revert to 1x speed to prevent the freezing .
  • ImprovedTube Version 4
  • Tested as only active extension or in incognito mode?: Yes
  • OS / Device: Windows
