🐞 "to the left" sidebar not working, along with player size adjustments

In the appearance > sidebar section, the option "to the left" doesn't work and my sidebar is still on the right.
Also, I think yt changed it's player ui? I had it set so that my video player would expand throughout the entire screen via appearance > player > player size (and it said I had it fit to the window) but it doesn't work now either.
This likely started at most a few months ago (I haven't used yt on my computer in a while) and I'm on firefox, latest update as of posting.

Tested this on a fresh clone from master, Chrome (latest).

Sidebar to the left — worked fine for me. Could be Firefox-specific, or already fixed since this was filed.

Fit to window (player size) — confirmed broken. Traced it partway: selecting "Fit to window" from the Player Size dropdown never gets saved to chrome.storage.local — I checked storage directly after selecting it and player_size simply isn't written. So none of the fit_to_window CSS/JS logic ever runs, because the setting itself is lost before it gets that far.

Still narrowing down whether this is specific to the Player Size dropdown or affects select/dropdown settings generally (menu/satus.js's select change handler vs. something specific to player_size's definition in menu/skeleton-parts/appearance.js). Will follow up if I confirm the exact fix — happy to submit a PR once I do, or if anyone else wants to jump on it in the meantime, that storage-not-saving behavior is the thread to pull.
