[Bug] Python Runtime could not be located

Wanted to add to the thread, with what I'm observing, and maybe a potential solution.

The Problem

Unpacking the .zip file on the website leads to this error.

Turns out this is something that can be fixed under the settings menu. Fixing that, I'm next met with this error.

I have a verified working python installation, so this shouldn't be happening.

I went ahead and cloned the repo, and followed the instructions. Create a venv, install the requirements, and then python3 main.py and it works properly as expected. So I'm not sure what's going on here.

Potential Solution

This is a solution I got with chatting with Google Gemini, but quickly checking the documentation this checks out. As with any AI generated code, I would caution against using this solution unless someone more experienced vouches for this solution

First, in the same venv i created for the app, I downloaded another library called PyInstaller.

pip install pyinstaller

Next, I used pyinstaller to package main.py into an app.

pyinstaller --windowed --name "MacStats" --icon "assets/app-icon.icns" main.py

This creates a folder called dist, where I now have a MacStats app, and running this, after about a second the performance monitor appears in the menu bar. This is a file that i can drag into the applications folder, or even add to the login items apps list.
