A rough guide on how to approach your spotlight feature.

You can see all previous spotlights here.

1. Brief Introduction

  • A paragraph about who you are and what you currently do.

2. Showcase

  • 4 to 8 of your favorite works
  • For each you can add:
    • Description: What was the project about?
    • Visuals: Include images or videos.
  • Optionally (for each):
    • Challenges: What challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?
    • Achievements: Any notable outcomes or feedback?
    • Personal notes: Why did you like this work, any interesting background story, any special inspiration for this?

3. A bit more about you

  • Background: Brief biography and career highlights.
  • Design Philosophy: Your main principles or approach to design.
  • Tools and Techniques: Favorite tools or methods you use.
  • Inspiration: What inspires your work?
  • Future Goals: What do you aim to achieve in the future?

4. Final Thoughts

  • Message to Readers: Any advice or personal message, a quote, anything you learned, you want to share?
  • Contact Information: How can people follow your work or get in touch?

The featured image should be of ratio 4/3 (1600/1200) like this example. We encourage you to create your own unique version of the featured image, just include "Designer Spotlight", the Codrops logo and your name and image/logo. The (new) Codrops blue is #485ae1.

For Instagram (if you're on it), it would be fantastic if you create some slides like these ones which we can then share as a collaborative post.

If you need our logotype in vector format, you can download it here.

For the uploaded videos it would be great if they could be of MP4 format and optimized. You can use tools like HandBrake which drastically reduce video size or an online tool like VideoSmaller. Let us know if you need help with that!
