GitLance
Git powered profiles for developers
TL;DR GitLance analyzes the code graph to quantify your programming abilities in a customizable profile
If you code, you probably have git repositories. You might also have a presence on StackOverflow, and a LinkedIn profile. There's a lot of information in those places that GitLance analyzes and unifies to create a profile 100% designed for developers. It focuses on the languages and tools you use, making it easy for employers, clients, and partners to understand what you're best at.
When you connect your GitHub account to GitLance, we take a look inside your repositories — down to the individual commit level — to see exactly what you and others have contributed. Combined with the importance of each repository, we calculate a GitRank for you in each language you work with. Although public repositories are most useful, we do include private repositories in the calculation as well. Your GitRank usually shows up as an 8 bit bar graph, where 2 bits means you're in the top 30% of developers in that language, 5 bits is the top 2%, and 8 bits is the top 0.02%. That may sound a bit draconian, but keep in mind that there are millions of people out there who've only ever made one Python commit in that bottom 50%. If you're a serious developer, you will almost certainly have a few GitBits in the languages you care about.
GitLance profiles are like portfolios for developers — they show off what you do, are completely focused on software developers, and are easy for tech-savvy employers, clients, and partners to understand.
For every language GitLance finds, you can choose to include it on your profile, as well as which of your public repositories to feature, and the libraries and frameworks you work with in that language.
You can add stack technologies that you like to work with, and if you connect with StackOverflow we'll highlight those technologies where your knowledge has been recognized by peers.
You can also connect your LinkedIn profile to add education and experience, and Twitter and Medium to share your technology musings.
