It is worth noting that, as per Wikipedia, and a little modified here for clarity
referer is originally a misspelling of referrer introduced by computer scientist Phillip Hallam-Baker to incorporate the Referer field into the HTTP specification
Technically, the comment or explanation part of the text is correct but i understand that in order to avoid confusion, a single style (the working one) should be applied and used throughout
