xdr_tester

Brief

An app which fills quasi-xdr from provided packets in pcap format.

What's all about?

Imagine you have some network traffic processing tool, which generates some data based on the traffic and you want to check its results, then you can (at least I can) test the results with this app. In my case we've got to check xDRs.

What's XDR? any-Data-Record. Here is explation of its ancestor CDR and my vision how do they differ

You can define you XDR in csv format having formal specificatin how to fill each XDR's field. This definition is in CSV format. Then you prepares pcap files which norrows down your case and fed it to the app.

Usage

CLI options

usage: dict_tester.py [-h] [-v] [--pcap PCAPFILE] [--xdr XDRFILE] [-d CSVDEL]
                      [-q CSVQUOT] [-s STARTFRAME] [-l PCAPLIMIT]

optional arguments:
  -h, --help            show this help message and exit
  -v, --version         Print version and exit
  --pcap PCAPFILE       path to pcap file
  --xdr XDRFILE         path to xdr file
  -d CSVDEL, --delimiter CSVDEL
                        csv field delimiter
  -q CSVQUOT, --quotechar CSVQUOT
                        csv field delimiter
  -s STARTFRAME, --startframe STARTFRAME
                        Start analysis from frame nb (1-based)
  -l PCAPLIMIT, --pcaplimit PCAPLIMIT
                        number of pkts to read

Example usage

python ./dict_tester.py --xdr ./isup.csv --pcap ./bicc.pcap
