Cranial Nerve and Deep Tendon Reflex Evaluation Tool
Overview
This program is designed to assess the function of cranial nerves and deep tendon reflexes through a series of simple yes/no questions. The responses help to evaluate whether a patient’s neurological functions are normal or impaired. This tool can be useful for clinicians conducting a basic neurological assessment.
Features
Cranial Nerve Evaluation:
Assesses the function of the 12 cranial nerves, including:
- Smell (Olfactory)
- Vision (Optic)
- Eye movements (Oculomotor, Trochlear, Abducens)
- Facial sensation and movements (Trigeminal, Facial)
- Hearing and balance (Vestibulocochlear)
- Swallowing and speaking (Glossopharyngeal, Vagus)
- Neck and shoulder movement (Accessory)
- Tongue movement (Hypoglossal)
- Deep Tendon Reflex Evaluation:
Assesses common deep tendon reflexes, including:
- Patellar reflex (knee)
- Achilles reflex (ankle)
- Biceps reflex
- Triceps reflex
Requirements
.NET Framework (or .NET Core/5+) C# 7.0 or later
How to Use
-Download the source code or compile the program in any C# IDE, such as Visual Studio.
-Run the application in your terminal or console window.
-Answer the prompts by typing yes or no to indicate whether the patient has normal function for each cranial nerve and reflex.
After completing the questions, the program will summarize the results for each cranial nerve function and deep tendon reflex evaluation.
