Jan and I both found the ride looked weird. Five causes, all fixed for Pixel 3D. Smooth is unchanged.

  • Dither: light, fog, sky, ranges, lamp pools and spokes step in flat bands now. Fog has six bands instead of three, and the peach band is two flats. Only the villagers' arrive-and-leave fade keeps Bayer.
  • Flowers: a 1.8 m grid, 3 pixels in radius within 8 m, one pixel at 25 m, none past that. A flower passes or fails as a whole, so none is cut at a patch edge. The land's patches stop sampling finer than a pixel, which removes the speckle on far hills.
  • Markers: a solid pad under the bike replaces the hoop, and the trail is off. The zone digit stays (WCAG 1.4.1, feat(web): the world speaks and never relies on colour — a ride narrator and the zone digit #3213) but leaves the Side camera, where it lies edge-on.
  • Overhead: 16 m back, 8 m up.
  • Scale: trees within 26 m of the eye carry needle and bark dabs.
  • Brightness: lighter --world-px-* greens, road and ridges, and a lighter bottom scrim.

Spec: docs/spec/world.md, docs/spec/riding.md.

Checked in headless Chromium on the M2 Pro GPU in Chase, Overhead, Side and Steady, plus Smooth. vitest src/lib/world 563 pass, pnpm run check and format:check clean. Not checked on a phone, a slower GPU or real routes.

…arkers

Changelog: The Pixel 3D ride looks cleaner and a little brighter. Sky, hills and fog are flat colour with no dotted fades, flowers shrink with distance, trees beside the camera have foliage, a solid pad under your bike shows your zone instead of the hoop and trail, and Overhead sits lower and closer.
