Our current recommendation for Software Architecture is Software Architecture by the University of Alberta on Coursera. Coursera is no longer a freely available source for courses and thus we need to find an alternative.
Duration:
3 Months or until a consensus is reached.
Background:
CS 2013 covers software architecture primarily in the section SE/Software Design, where it's part of the Core-Tier2 hours, more information can be found on page 180. It also comes up in the HCI/Programming Interactive Systems section which is an elective.
CS 2023 covers software architecture primarily in the section SE-Design: Software Design, where is now in the CS Core section, more information can be found on page 243. It similarly comes up in HCI-Design: System Design, though also upgraded from elective to KA Core.
On terminology:
- Core-Tier1 = CS Core = things that are expected to be covered by all curricula.
- Core-Tier2 = KA Core = things that are "nice to haves" but up to the discretion of the schools.

So far I have not been able to find many good courses as a substitute. The only one I have found is OMSCS which has made video lectures for their CS 6310: Software Architecture and Design Course freely available.
I have not done an in depth review of the course material and how well it covers the curriculum guidelines.
The other resource that has been found in the discord community is a course on Scalable Software Architectures by Prof Tarzia at Northwestern. He has video lectures and programming projects, but unfortunately the focus is on modern scalable web architecture which is not well represented in the curriculum guidelines.

Find another freely available and relavent Software Architecture course to replace the current offering.
