Using the Services plugin to authenticate is usually the wrong option these days. SASL is better integrated with servers, and its config is not as buggy as the Services plugin's.

Using the Services plugin to authenticate is usually the wrong option these days. SASL is better integrated with servers, and its config is not as buggy as the Services plugin's.
Also, the motivation for this is that it's broken in that the wizard sets the global value instead of the network-specific one, and it's a bit annoying to fix.
