MathJax installation
Current versions of Jupyter come with the full MathJax installation, so no extra steps should be necessary. I recommend using the SVG renderer over the HTML-CSS renderer, as it generally deals well with mathjax embedded in tables, a big part of lambda-notebook output. You can do this by right-clicking any MathJax output, and selecting from Math Settings -> Math Renderer.
If you try to switch renderers and something goes wrong (this can happen on many older versions of Jupyter, which shipped with versions of MathJax that were incomplete in various ways), you may be left in a state where it is hard to switch back, because there is no context menu. If this happens to you, you can reset MathJax by finding and deleting a browser cookie beginning with mjx.
