We really appreciate the work you've put into this! As a team, we've begun to hit scaling limits with the number of providers that we include in the SDK directly. For that reason, our guidance has shifted towards community-vended packages that we'll then point customers to from our documentation (see also #803 and #1031).

If you publish a python package to PyPi, we'd be happy to feature you on our documentation page as a supported model provider, giving you visibility to the Strands community.

Hi @zastrowm, thanks for your message! I understand the situation; however, I would love it if you could review our situation again.

OVHcloud is the cloud provider leader in Europe (operating over 450,000 servers within 40 data centers across 4 continents to reach 1.6 million customers in over 140 countries). We have a lot of our clients asking to be integrated into tools such as Strands Agents. Our goal is to meet their expectations, thus this PR.

I think it would be awesome if you reconsider our integration, as we are few in Europe (and on this scale) doing inferences. There is a real request from European customers to see integrations of our inference provider in a framework like yours. We have our keynote this Thursday, and we really want to mention Strands Agents as one of our integrations. It could highlight your product too. We are already integrated in several open-source solutions: LiteLLM, PydanticAI, KiloCode, opencode, continue.dev, mastra, and Hugging Face Inference Provider this week.

Creating a new package will considerably delay this announcement, and I think being part of your product may be a guarantee of popularity.
