The following examples assume the server is running non-secured on your host
machine on port 50000. Additionally, you must have
grpcurl installed.
To list all services
grpcurl --plaintext --proto /path/to/proto/station_information_service.proto localhost:50000 list
Assuming the station proto file exists in /path/to/station.proto you can fetch all active stations from the server
grpcurl --plaintext --proto /path/to/proto/station_information_service.proto localhost:50000 UMetadata.V1.StationInformation.GetAllActiveStations
To get the data for an individual station, say UU.CTU,
grpcurl -d '{"network" : "UU", "name": "CTU"}' --plaintext --proto /path/to/proto/station_information_service.proto localhost:50000 UMetadata.V1.StationInformation.GetActiveStation
You need to get the proto files before compiling the software.
git subtree add --prefix uMetadataAPI https://github.com/uofuseismo/uMetadataAPI.git main --squash
Additionally, you should update the proto files
git subtree pull --prefix uMetadataAPI https://github.com/uofuseismo/uMetadataAPI.git main --squash
