July efforts have focussed on improvements to the LINZ-2-OSM web application for loading data into OSM, and starting to engage with the New Zealand OSM community.
* Met with Glen Barnes & Hamish Bowman of NZOpenGIS to discuss their ideas for the merge process.
* Moved codebase to Open New Zealand-controlled Github account.
* Upgraded to use modern versions of core software - Django, PostGIS, etc.
* Performance and usability enhancements, including asynchronous generation of exported data.
* Recording user exports of data.
* Progress recording and reporting (screenshot 1).
* Selection of limited extents of data, by breaking up larger data layers into smaller units (screenshot 2).
* Moving LINZ-2-OSM to a new, more capable server and allowing access to community users for actual OSM data improvement and merging to start.
* Use latest LINZ data.
* Continuously include new data from LDS changesets and NZOpenGPS roads.
* Add offshore islands other than the Chathams.
* Track changes with LINZ feature IDs.
* Streamline user registration (preferably by letting users log in with OSM credentials).
* Bulk-updates of LINZ data in OSM that is changed, or when tagging style changes.
* Solicit new ideas from OSM community users after use of improved LINZ-2-OSM.
* Investigate adding/merging LINZ street addresses and parcel boundaries.
* Investigate adding/merging other datasets.
