August has seen the release of the updated LINZ-2-OSM webapp, various improvements following feedback from the community, and engagement with the global OSM community regarding the upload. Some uploading of data for offshore islands has also been done, and limited data uploaded for mainland NZ. View the LINZ-2-OSM app

- Worked with Glen Barnes & Hamish Bowman of NZOpenGIS, who have been using the software and suggesting improvements, as well as updating tagging and processing of LINZ data to suit new LINZ standards and changes in OSM policy.
- Glen & Hamish have also been consulting the OSM community about new tagging of data, and new procedures for uploads. Individual layers of data are developed with feedback from community, then approved once consensus is reached.
- Robin Paulson of NZOpenGIS has been discussing the import with the global OSM community to ensure its consistency with worldwide standards.
- The Snares and Bounty Islands largely complete
- Significant data from other offshore islands uploaded
- Trials of layers in Antarctica
- Airports in mainland, plus work started on coastlines
- Released LINZ-2-OSM on a new server, and access given to community users
- Data layer progress recording and reporting
- Exports of larger LINZ datasets for smaller areas (to break work up into manageable chunks)
- Better statistics and analysis of LINZ data
- Previews of exports to aid tagging and processing
- Added a process for reviewing export rules
- Added public read-only access to system
- Tagging and processing rules can be saved and exported

- Continuously include new data from LDS changesets and NZOpenGPS roads.
- Track changes with LINZ feature IDs.
- Streamline user registration (preferably by letting users log in with OSM credentials).
- Bulk-updates of LINZ data in OSM that is changed, or when tagging style changes.
- Investigate adding/merging LINZ street addresses and parcel boundaries.
- Investigate adding/merging other datasets.
